Other than Tam Coc – Bich Dong, Tuyet Tinh Coc, Trang An, do you know any other fantastic destinations in Ninh Binh Province? It’s Hang Mua. With pristine landscape, Mua Cave, 90 kilometers far from Hanoi, is a new “hot” stop that everyone should come by once in your Vietnam tour.
Mua Cave is located at the foot of Mua Mountain as a part of the eco-tourism zone in Khe Dau Ha village, Ninh Xuan Commune, Hoa Lu, Ninh Binh. From the mountain peak, a whole wide open landscape will hit your eyes.
But the way to the mountain peak is uneasy. To get the best view of Hoa Lu, visitors have to climb 486 steps. It is quite rough but worthy. It is a good chance for you to self-motivate and to renew yourselves after exhausted working hours. Climbing up to the mountain peak combined with enjoying the fresh air, all sweats will be responded by the satisfaction.
From the foot of the mountain, travelers can observe white stone steps leading to the peak, one after another, like “The Great Wall” in small scale. The stone handrails are delicately and sophisticatedly engraved, with the dragons and phoenixes, which exactly follow the engraving style under Tran Dynasty.
The name of the cave, Mua, is derived from a mythological folk tale. It is believed that once upon the time, the King often came to the cave at the foot of this mountain to watch beautiful females singing and dancing. Thence, the cave is named as “Mua Cave”, implying “Dancing” in English.
Touring around the man-made lake at the foot of Mua Mountain.
The monument center is a huge green man-made lake, like a giant emerald. Behind it are white stone steps leading to the mountain peak, like a roadway to the Heaven. Sitting on the boat, immersing in the quiet and ancient space, visitors would feel like being lost into a dreamy folk tale.
Hiking up to the peak of Mua Mountain is preferred by foreign tourists.
If you desire to find a peace in an old capital, you should not miss Mua Cave, and Hoa Lu Monument as well. In fact, you can take a visit to Mua Cave throughout the year. But it is recommended to come in spring and early summer since the weather is truly cool and rarely rainy. If you are seeking for a new inspiration, you should arrive in early autumn, especially at the moment of season change.
Its current entry ticket costs VND100,000 per one.
