The Government Office has just sent a directive to the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to urgently research and pilot the use of "vaccine passports" with international visitors to a number of tourist centers that can control the epidemic such as Phu Quoc, Kien Giang.
This is to implement the conclusion of the Politburo on a number of key tasks to strengthen epidemic prevention and socio-economic development.
The Ministry of Health is required to assume the prime responsibility for, and coordinate with relevant agencies in, urgently researching for the pilot use of "vaccine passports" with Phu Quoc and Kien Giang. Research and review the vaccination against COVID-19 for children. Soon, publicize vaccine programs and plans for people in order to achieve herd immunity with a specific timeline.
The Prime Minister also directed the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to assume the prime responsibility for, and coordinate with the People's Committee of Kien Giang province and relevant agencies in, formulating plans, plans and procedures for welcoming international guests to Phu Quoc, soon reporting reported in July 2021.
According to tourism businesses, this is a good signal for the tourism market in the last months of the year. The selection of Phu Quoc to pilot the opening to welcome international visitors is also very feasible and suitable for the needs of international tourists. Every year, from October is the peak to welcome international tourists, if there is early preparation, Vietnam's tourism will soon recover with this influx of tourists.
The National Administration of Tourism said that it is currently coordinating with relevant units to urgently develop a pilot plan to welcome international visitors through "vaccine passports".
"The opening of the door to welcome international guests is an important issue, in which the highest priority is to ensure safety against epidemics. The model of welcoming guests will be piloted step by step on the passenger market, flight mode, selection choose suitable destinations and products. Only service enterprises that are capable and meet the requirements of epidemic prevention and control will be able to welcome guests," a representative of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism said.
