Vietnam won the "Asia's Leading Destination" by World Travel Awards 2021.
The World Travel Awards (World Travel Awards), is known as the Oscars of the industry. Vietnam is chosen as the leading destination in Asia (Asia's Leading Destination), surpassing Indonesia, Thailand, Nepal and Laos. The winning countries are voted on by experts in the tourism industry and the public.
This is the title Vietnam has won in 2019 and 2018. From March 2020, Vietnam is still closed to international tourism due to Covid-19, which is expected to open from the end of November.
Besides the title "Asia's Leading Destination", Vietnam was also honored as "Asia's Leading Sustainable Tourism Destination" (Asia's Leading Sustainable Tourism Destination) and the National Administration of Tourism received the title "Tourism Management Agency"- Asia's Leading Tourist Board 2021.

Specific places in Vietnam also received leading awards in Asia including Ha Long Bay (Quang Ninh) winning "Asia's Leading Tourist Attraction", Hoi An (Quang Nam) winning the prize. Winner in the category "Asia's Leading Cultural City Destination" and Cuc Phuong National Park (Ninh Binh) was awarded "Asia's Leading National Park". This is the third year in a row that Cuc Phuong has won this title.
In the resort and hotel category, Vietnam won 17 different awards for resorts such as Avana Retreat, JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay, Silk Sense Hoi An River Resort, Hotel de la Coupole Mgallery, InterContinental Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort... and a number of theme parks, amusement parks, airlines...
